When installing a landscape, you will probably want to install features such as a driveway, patio, walkways etc. In order to do this, you might have to level some of the slopes and re-grade the land.
This can lead to soil erosion. In fact, if these slopes aren’t provided appropriate support, it can impact the integrity of the hardscaping and damage the softscaping on your property too.
Why Build Retaining Walls?
However, all this is easily avoidable, by building retaining walls at strategic locations. These are specially-engineered walls that provide the rock and soil the support it needs, and ensures that your landscape stays looking good and is undamaged at all times.
Different Materials Used to Build Retaining Walls
Constructing retaining walls is very different from building regular walls; and special materials and building techniques are used in the work. We can construct retaining walls using:
- CMU (Concrete Masonry Units) - These are a very popularly used material in retaining wall construction. These modular concrete units are economical and easy to install. We can also clad the concrete surface of these walls, with natural stone veneers for a very unique look.
- Segmental wall blocks - These are somewhat like the CMUs, but with a modular, interlocking design. Again, these are also very cost-effective and can be used in outdoor masonry installations.
- Natural stone - Many of our customers prefer natural stone retaining walls and we construct these using mortar. If you like, the natural stone can also be dry-stacked to create strong and resilient retaining walls that will provide your landscaping the support it needs. These are more expensive than concrete walls because the material is more expensive and the installation is pretty labor intensive. However, these walls are extremely long-lasting and so provide value for money in the long term.
Regardless of the type of seating walls you prefer, we are the company that can provide the kind of solutions you need.
